PLEASE
NOTE WE ALL OFFER OUR HELP VOLUNTARILY IN OUR SPARE TIME
WE ARE
NOT ABLE TO HELP DOGS THAT HAVE UNPREDICTABLE TEMPERAMENTS AROUND PEOPLE
*********
The East Anglian SBT Club Rescue Scheme was set up during the 1980s to help Stafford owners who found themselves in extreme dire straits (i.e. death of owner, terminal or debilitating illness) but unfortunately along the way we have increasingly become the first port of call for anyone who finds that they either can't manage or don't want their dog.
Due to the sheer volume of unwanted Staffords and the lack of good, sensible homes forthcoming we find ourselves in the situation where we are no longer able to help directly with rescuing Staffords. We have close links with some all-breed rescue organisations in the East Anglian area and in future we will be directing anyone offering a home to a Stafford (or looking to re-home their dog) to them. We will continue to fundraise and will be making regular donations for the wellbeing and help of Staffords within those rescue centres that we support .
OFFERING
A HOME TO A RESCUE DOG
Please consider carefully if you are willing to offer a permanent home to a rescue dog……..
Is a Stafford the right dog for you and your family?
Staffords can live well in to their ‘teens’
They may not always be good natured around other dogs or animals
They are a very people orientated breed and generally lively
Staffords need consistency and sensible handling
Rescue dogs sometimes come with 'baggage' needing patience and understanding to fit into a new home

DO YOU NEED HELP TO ENABLE YOU TO KEEP YOUR DOG? Sometimes people feel that they can't give their dogs enough time and that they would be better off in another home with someone who can offer more.....realistically that perfect home often just isn't out there and both the owner and the dog have to make do with what they have. With most people having to work longer hours these days it is often lack of time that causes the problems - there are many ways to entertain and exercise your dog that perhaps you haven't realised. We are more than happy to be able to offer solutions so that the dog can remain in his home - if you feel you would like this help then please see the advice here There are also some very useful videos produced by the Dogs Trust giving advice on various training issues http://www.dogstrust.org.uk/az/t/training/default.aspx
DO YOU NEED HELP TO ENABLE YOU TO RE-HOME YOUR DOG? Our first advice to anyone wanting to re-home a dog would be to contact the person you got the dog from. Whoever bred the dog is responsible for bringing him into the world and should therefore have a degree of responsibility for him throughout his life. If you aren't able to contact the breeder, or they will not accept their responsibilities, then we are able to offer some help and advice to help YOU to find a suitable home for him please see the advice here
If
your Stafford originally came from a Rescue centre you should contact them as
they should be responsible for taking the dog back if you cannot manage with it. Battersea Dogs Home has very helpful behavioural advice
leaflets and a help line open to anyone, not just those who have re-homed a dog
through Battersea. http://www.battersea.org.uk/help_advice/publications/dog_behaviour_advice/index.html
It is a sorry fact of life that there are just not enough good homes out there for all the unwanted dogs. We are no longer able to deal directly with unwanted Staffords and can only suggest that if you aren't able to use any of the above advice that you should contact one of the all-breeds rescue centres listed below.
PLEASE
NOTE WE ALL OFFER OUR HELP VOLUNTARILY IN OUR SPARE TIME (of which we have
little!) – WE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO GET BACK TO YOU IMMEDIATELY OR TO WORK
MIRACLES BUT WE TRY OUR VERY BEST…..FOR THE DOG’S SAKE!
PLEASE BE PATIENT!
If you need our help or advice please email jo@scruffydogs.co.uk or phone 07912 359058

BUDDY NEEDS YOUR HELP ! Buddy is 3 ½ years old and is neutered and microchipped. He is also vaccinated up to date. He is white with black spots and has a very friendly, loving nature. He does not like cats but is fine with other dogs if introduced sensibly. He loves people. and is very gentle around children. He isn't food aggressive and has a good range of commands. He is just a lovely boy but unfortunately due to a change in his owner's circumstances he is being left for long hours, which is not an ideal situation for Buddy.
If you are interested in Buddy please email easbtclub@gmail.com or jo@scruffydogs.co.uk
We do still need to find homes for these Staffords that we have committed to help
HONEY ROSIE If you want further information or you can offer a home to any of these dogs please email jo@scruffydogs.co.uk or phone 07912 359058

RESCUE CENTRES
RJ & RORY
RJ & Rory are currently at BATTERSEA DOGS & CATS HOME Old Windsor Branch

These two dogs were rehomed separately but missed each other so much they came back and are for rehoming together. RJ loves a cuddle and fuss, enjoys playing with tennis balls and raggas, takes food gently, has good basic commands and the potential to learn so much more. She is comfortable around other dogs, but needs a home where she and Rory can be the only dogs. Rory can be a bit bouncy at times, but learns very quickly. He loves footballs and is easily trained with food. He's sociable around other dogs.
