Minor Puppy Dog (1)
1st Brunning & Frost's DAZMARNIC ALL WHITE MATE Brilliant name as he is indeed all white. 8 months old and very much still a wiggly puppy, just as he should be at this age. Lovely dark eyes and very good teeth and bite, nice clean lips. His body is still a little loose all over but he has plenty of time for that to change and develop.
Puppy Dog (3,1 abs)
1st Williams' ILLORI BACK CHAT - BEST PUPPY DOG & BEST PUPPY IN SHOW
10 month old black brindle. An attractive pup, shown in great condition. Head developing nicely with correct ears. Teeth are large and correct bite. Very clean-lipped although I would prefer a little more underjaw. Straight front, topline and overall balance. Moved and handled very well.
2nd Smith's NIZEVA PAPLOO
8 month old brindle and white. Not as mature as 1st but still a nicely balanced dog. I just preferred the overall strength and substance of 1st. Very good rear angulation and topline, moved well.
Junior Dog (4)
1st Hammond & Shipp's HAMMYSTAFF HANKY PANKY WITH IDYLLICSTAFF - BEST DOG & BEST OPPOSITE SEX IN SHOW
Red. Wow! What a handsome dog that demands you look at him. His head is strong and powerful yet very clean. Great ears which he used all the time, enhancing his expression. Big teeth, correct bite and a powerful underjaw. Dark eyes and good pigment. He has the straightest of fronts on neat, well padded feet. Good shoulder placement. His rear is firmly developed and allowed him to power up and down the mat. Handled and turned out to a high standard.
2nd Williams' ILLORI BACK CHAT
1st Puppy Dog
3rd Lee's LEEBEES SNOW SOLDIER
A smaller, more compact dog than the first two but still nice. Ears, eyes and teeth all correct. I preferred the fronts on 1st and 2nd and the little bit more lift.
Res Anchor’s VALGLO DADDY COOL
Yearling Dog (0)
Novice Dog (1)
1st Anchor's VALGLO DADDY COOL
Res Junior. Black brindle and white. A dog that is on the smaller end of the height scale and would benefit from more lift. OK head shape, good teeth and correct bite, straight front, level topline. Movement close behind.
Post Graduate Dog (6,1 abs)
1st Rowe & Harris' ILLORI AZIZI
Black brindle. A very clean dog with everything as it should be. Head has good depth although I would prefer a little more strength and width to underjaw and a darker eye. Correct front and rear angulations allowing a level topline which was held on the move. A very powerful mover put down in great condition
2nd Buchan's HAPPYSTAFF BLACK SABBATH
Black brindle. A very different style of dog to 1st. I absolutely love his head, it’s strong, but clean, deep with correct ears, eyes and bite. He also has a sound front and rear. He is just let down by his slightly slipping topline, which spoilt his overall appearance. Great condition and movement
3rd Gatt's NIZEVA ALFONSO
Black brindle. A nice dog that has everything in the right place, he was just let down by his rear. He lacked muscle and strength which spoilt his movement, hoping this can be improved by fitness.

1st Rowe & South's ILLORI AKINLANA JW ShCM - RESERVE BEST DOG
Black brindle. Another dog that demands your attention. His attitude and temperament is all Stafford. He is a very clean and balanced dog with good ears and bite. I would like to see a slightly wider and stronger underjaw. His body is gleaming in coat and condition. Good front and rear angulations which allow very good movement - he easily powers up and down while keeping his topline.

1st Asker's DAZMARNIC CETEWAYOS KRAAL
Red and White. Especially attractive markings. Nothing not to like about this boy. I especially liked his front and depth of chest and his movement. He has a correct head, his ears, eyes and teeth are all good and his head has strength but remains very clean.
2nd Slattery's DAZMARNIC UP FOR TROUBLE
Red. I really preferred the head shape and eye placement of 1st placed dog, however he has a very good front and feet and was shown in fine condition. Movement OK.
Special Open Blue or Blue/White Dog (1)
1st Legate's KIPPASTAFF BOSSY BLUE
Blue. This boy is presented in a really fit condition. Nice shaped head with good depth and strong muzzle allowing a correct bite and big teeth. Very clean lipped. His front is good - a little more padding to his feet would make it even better. A level top line, slightly over-angulated in rear, moves OK
Veteran Dog (3)
1st McFadyen's ARAIDH JACQUES AU BOITE
Black brindle. This boy is all Stafford, on his toes and making his handler work, I loved it! Even at his age with his grey face and a little less muscle, he still presents as a very good specimen with temperament and attitude to match. Loved his head, angulations and movement.
2nd Cooper's TESSY BLAZING STAR
Brindle pied. Very well behaved boy. Nice head and expression, good bite, carries his ears high. He has a nicely balanced body and moves well. He would look even better if he was carrying a little less weight.
3rd Fairhurst's FAIRLENIUM EYE OF THE STORM JW
Black brindle. A stronger dog all over than 1st and 2nd. I preferred the overall balance and movement of the first two.
Minor Puppy Bitch (2)
1st Gardner's BALLINDONA FAB'U'LUSS FOR LABRASTAF
Black brindle. A pretty little pup with a feminine head. Very nice ears which she used all the time. Lovely dark eyes, perfect bite. Very good condition for her age. Strong neck, straight front and deep chest with well sprung ribs. Nicely balanced for a young pup. Moved well and handled first rate.
2nd Fairhurst's KINGS OF ODIN QUEEN OF DARKNESS
Black brindle. Another very feminine looking pup, she also has correct ears and used them. Good stop, dark round eye. I preferred the overall balance of 1st place: this pup was a little longer in the back and taller. Moved OK.
Puppy Bitch (3)
1st Rowe & South's ILLORI BELIEVE IN ME - BEST PUPPY BITCH
Black brindle. Sister of 1st place in Puppy Dog and they are similar. Quite a mature pup in good condition and well-muscled. Top sized. Very keen expression, her head is deep with a defined stop, round eyes and lovely big teeth in correct bite. Powerful neck, with good angulations front and rear, level topline, good mover. When challenging for BPIS I just felt her brother was a little more compact.
2nd Desmond's ELITEBULL MOONBEAM
Black brindle. A super puppy, liked everything about her. It was a very hard decision between these two, I just preferred the depth of head and stop on 1st. but overall another really nice pup.
3rd Martin’s CREPUSCULE LA DELICE
From what I could see this girl is another lovely puppy. Unfortunately she did not make it easy for me to assess her at all. I am sure a few ring craft lessons will help her out. I did get to see her use her lovely ears and got a glimpse of her correct dentition.
Junior Bitch (4, 1 abs)
1st Thurston's HAPPYSTAFF DANCING QUEEN - BEST BITCH & BEST IN SHOW
Black brindle. When looking back at my notes my first words were ‘beautiful, powerful and clean’. I think this youngster is just stunning. Perfect head, feminine and deep throughout. Lovely stop and perfectly placed round, dark eyes. Her muzzle is strong but of correct length and not fleshy. Powerful neck leading into well laid back shoulders. Very straight front on nicely padded feet. Good spring of rib, fairly short coupling. Her top line was level and she moved like a dream. Well deserved BIS.

3rd Haynes & Williams' HAPPYSTAFF LAST TANGO
A nicely balanced young bitch. Litter sister to 1st place she is of a slightly different style to her sister. She was difficult to assess but when I managed to see she has good teeth and moved well once settled.

1st Buchan's HAPPYSTAFF COULD IT BE MAGIC
Black brindle. Nice compact little bitch. Lovely head shape, deep and short with a strong muzzle with fantastic under jaw and correct teeth. Dark, round eyes. Powerful neck and shoulders, straight front, well-padded feet. OK topline. Appropriately angulated rear. Good condition and moved very well -shame she was not a little more animated.
2nd Yarham's ENGLADIAN CAN'T BUY ME LOVE
Black brindle. Another nice headed bitch without the balance of 1st - I would like a little more leg to perfect the picture. She moved very well.
3rd Legate's KIMSTAFF SARABI
Black brindle and white. A different style of dog to the first two. A strong head but does not have the same depth of skull. Lovely topline, and moved very well. Shown in good condition.
Open Bitch (7, 1 abs)
1st Mann's NEROTORO COSMIC GIRL JW - RESERVE BEST BITCH & RESERVE BEST IN SHOW
Black brindle. Another absolutely beautiful bitch that really deserved RBIS. Her head is what you notice first about her – it has perfect proportions throughout. Lovely dark, round eye, perfect ears that she used all the time to her advantage. Correct length of muzzle, housing big white teeth. Well muscled and laid back shoulders, straight front on feet with good padding. If I am being really picky I would like a little more depth to her brisket. Fantastic rear allowing great movement.
2nd Raynsford & Steven’s RAYNSTAFF DIDJA EVER
Black brindle and white. Another bitch I really liked. She is balanced and a very good mover just lost out to 1st as I preferred her head shape, but this bitch has lots to like.
3rd Hammond's HAMMYSTAFF HEAVEN KNOWS
Red and white. The first thing you notice when you look at her is her wicked expression - she looks ready for anything. Cleanest of heads, darkest of eyes and big teeth. Fantastic pigment. Broad front, good bone, fit body with a level topline and powerful rear; another very good mover.

Her front and rear angulations are good as is her movement, holding her topline well when moving.

Black brindle. Mother of 1st in Post Graduate and they are almost identical, also mother to my Best in Show (Junior bitch) and Novice bitch class winner, although her daughters hold their toplines better than their mother. Nice compact little bitch. Lovely head shape, deep and short with a strong muzzle with fantastic underjaw, teeth correct. Dark, round eyes. Powerful neck and shoulders, straight front, with correct padding to feet. Well angulated rear. Good condition and moved acceptably.

SPECIAL AWARD CLASSES
Firstly I would like thank the Club and Committee for inviting me to judge the Special Award Classes at this year's open show. It was a great honour to participate and judge alongside Jo. The hospitality was spot on with everyone making me very feel welcome. Big well done to the Club for sourcing this new venue at extremely short notice (2 days to be exact ) which I believe went down really well - sterling effort. Big thank you to my stewards on the day Mary Coble and Glynis Yuill for ensuring everything ran along smoothly. Lastly a big thank you to all the exhibitors for their entries and giving me the opportunity to assess their dogs - much appreciated.
Puppy Dog/Bitch (7, 1 abs)
1st Rowe & South's - ILLORI BELIEVE IN ME - B/B bitch ( 10 months ) very well constructed top size girl, lovely clean feminine head which is maturing nicely, tidy ears, dark eye with good muzzle length housing a perfect scissor bite. Lovely straight front on strong pasterns with tidy well padded feet. Bodying up very nicely with a very good spring of rib for her age, tapering in nicely at the loin with a decent level of muscle tone to the rear quarters. Movement was very sound, powering up and down the mat with drive holding her topline. Very well balanced bitch put down in excellent condition for her age, will watch her mature on with interest. Nice pup.
2nd Desmond's - ELITEBULL MOONBEAM - B/B bitch with white fleck on chest (10 months ) Standard girl, this girl didn't take her eyes off me from the word go and was the one to beat from the outset. Beautiful balanced feminine head and expression which is maturing nicely, tidy ears, dark round piercing eyes, good length of muzzle which is clean with tight lips housing a perfect scissor bite. Lovely straight front, strong pasterns and tight well padded feet. Short compact body, body wise everything is in place at this stage of her development and maturing nicely. Balanced girl who moved very well holding her topline. Very close decision between 1st and 2nd with 1st nicking it on her overall maturity and conditioning behind the collar. These two will swap places on many occasions, another nice puppy who i will watch mature with interest.
3rd Smith's - NIZEVA PAPLOO - Brindle dog with white chest & feet (9 months ) clean headed lad without exaggeration, ears OK, dark eye, good clean muzzle length with tight lips, housing correct dentition. Tidy front of good width, still plenty of maturing to do before we see the final picture with this lad but everything seems in place at this stage. Moved OK once settled and presented in good all round condition for his 9 months.
4th Martin's - CREPUSCULE LA DELICE
5th Fairhurst's - KINGS OF ODIN QUEEN OF DARKNESS
Open Dog (7, 2 abs)
1st Rowe & South's - ILLORI AKINLANA JW - B/B with white fleck on chest (3 years) Judged this lad back in March at the Western SBTS open show and gave him Best in Show. Nothing i can add that I haven't already said. Great blend of bull and terrier - super, clean headed lad of excellent make and shape - correct skull to muzzle ratio with no exaggeration and perfect scissor bite. His front is bang on straight and true, with excellent all round body proportions/angulations front and rear. Moved with drive and economy of effort. A very well constructed dog who is balanced throughout with clean lines and as always was put down in excellent all round condition. Quality top drawer dog with spirit.
2nd McFadyen's - ARAIDH JACQUES AU BOITE - B/B (11 years) Top size gentleman with a strong head which is clean without any exaggeration, rose ears, dark round eye, good skull to muzzle ratio with a perfect scissor bite. Straight front of good width, strong pasterns with tight well padded feet, nicely balanced lad behind the collar with a good depth of brisket and very good spring of rib. He has a level topline with a good bend of stifle, slightly lacking in rear quarters (muscle) but he is 11 years old. Moved well holding his topline once he got into his stride and overall a lovely old chap who enjoyed his day out - impressed me for his 11 years.
3rd William's - ILLORI BACK CHAT - B/B (9 months) Unplaced in puppy bitch/dog. Standard boy of good type, clean headed with neat ears, dark eyes set correctly with good muzzle length, housing a perfect scissor bite. Pleasing front of good width with tight well padded feet. Bodying up nicely with everything in the right place at this stage of his development. Moved well in spurts. His novice handler seemed to get to grips with him in this class but unfortunately wasn't the case in the puppy class.
4th Gatt's - NIZEVA ALFONZO
5th Slattery's - DAZMARNIC UP FOR TROUBLE
Open Bitch (7, 1 abs)
1st Hammond's - HAMMYSTAFF HEAVEN KNOWS - R/W (4.5 years) Striking girl - balanced, clean head of correct make and shape/skull to muzzle ratio. Neat rose ears, dark round eye set correctly with a pleasing mischievous expression; clean, tight lipped muzzle housing a perfect scissor bite. Her front is straight, of good width with tidy, well padded feet standing on strong pasterns. Body wise, can't really fault her, compact, very well balanced throughout, everything flows together. When viewed from above she has excellent rib with a nice taper at loin, viewed in profile she has a level topline, correct brisket depth with nice tuck at the loin. Correct front and rear angulation with an excellent bend of stifle and well muscled rear quarters, her rear pads sitting spot on where they should be. Moved well with drive and purpose once settled (fiery little devil) and presented in great all round condition with a short tight coat. She did her best here today to spoil her chances by playing her handler up when stacked. Quality bitch with a bit of fire in her belly.
2nd Raynsford & Steven's - RAYNSTAFF DIDJA EVER - B/B with white blaze to chest (4 years 10 months) Judged this girl also back in March at WSBTS where she was awarded 1st in open bitch. Hasn't changed any, lovely all round bitch presented in super condition, clean feminine head with a pleasing expression, correct muzzle length, clean, tight lips housing a perfect scissor bite. Athletic in outline, straight front, tidy well padded feet, brisket of correct depth with nice tuck at the loin; longer cast than the class winner with good front and rear angulation. This girl excels in movement, powering up and down the mat effortlessly. Very nice bitch. Unlucky to come up against 1st here today.
3rd Thurston's - HAPPYSTAFF DANCING QUEEN - B/B - (12 months) upstanding, strong headed girl, deep stop, tidy ears with dark round piercing eyes; shorter in fore face than 1st & 2nd with strong underjaw & perfect dentition. Straight front of good width with tidy feet and no weakness at pasterns. Body make up is very similar to 2nd place but with more maturing to do, good spring and depth to rib with decent tuck at the loin. Moved well with drive and presented in good all round condition, an animated young lady who does demand your attention. Will appeal to many I'm sure - preferred the overall balance of 1st and 2nd here today.
