ARAIDH DEVIL IN DISGUISE AT ROTHERSTAFF

MINOR PUPPY DOG (2, 0 abs)

1st  ESTELLASTAFF DARK PROFILE     Chunky brindle puppy with ample bone and substance. He has a smashing front but his feet need to sort themselves out. Very much a baby and will come together more in time.

2nd FABREHN PRIDE & GLORY     Black brindle dog who had a much cleaner skull than the winner but was nowhere near as developed in the body. He was hard to assess on the move but I’m sure he will get the hang of it soon.

PUPPY DOG (5, 0 abs)

1st  BLAZINSTAFF LIGHT MY FIRE    BEST PUPPY DOG AND BEST OPPOSITE SEX IN SHOW.   Smashing upstanding red/fawn and white with a super front and rear angulation to match. He moves as his construction would suggest and has a decent head and expression to boot. He will need to harden up a bit when he moves up the classes to compete with some of the juniors on the circuit.

2nd  ZAKSTAFF TOBY TOBIAS  Black Brindle with ample bone but immature in the body department compared to the winner. This isn’t a worry as such as he has the world to come on. He is longer cast but has good rib developing.

  3rd  CARBIS RAMASSES

RES  DRAGONS LAIR

VHC  RUBYSHA REDEEMING JEWEL AT REDRICHSTAFF

JUNIOR DOG (5, 0 abs)

1st  RAMBLESTAFF EBENEZER GOOD JW    BEST DOG AND BEST IN SHOW. Standard Black brindle with no exaggerations and housing a smashing headshape with enough depth and broadness of muzzle. His rose ears and dark eye enhance a super expression. Good front and shoulders matched by his equally good quarters. The in-between bits were good too – rib, tuck up and length of coupling and back. He moved fluently and effortlessly and all in all is a top class animal. Good luck with him, wished he was mine!

2nd  JAVAWOLF MIGHTY MOUSE  Very fit and well balanced predominately white dog. He has a very pleasing headshape with lovely dark eyes and tight well fitting lips around an ample strength foreface. Half prick ears for me do detract a bit but they are acceptable in the standard. He moved well both coming and going but for me, I would like a bit more covering on him. All round nice animal.

MAIDEN DOG (  4, 1 abs)

1st  FERGIES SPECIAL BOY  Top size red dog with a clean, plain head. He had a decent enough body with plenty bone and moved well enough both ways.

2nd FABREHN PRIDE & GLORY  see 2nd puppy dog

3rd WELLSSTAFFS NORFOLK LAD

NOVICE DOG (8, 0 abs)

1st  JAVAWOLF MIGHTY MOUSE  see 2nd junior dog

2nd DRAGONS LAIR  Very raw red puppy who needs to come together a bit yet. Nice size and weight of bone and he moved ok.

3rd CRASHKON TAKE A LOOK

Res SMYLINATYA ACTIVE AMBUSHER

VHC FABREHN PRIDE & GLORY

POST GRADUATE DOG (8, 1 abs)

1st HEROIC LAD  Quite nicely balanced brindle with a good headshape with no coarseness or fleshiness. He does appear to be lacking in coat around the eyes which is off-putting. He has good body properties with a nice weight of bone about him. He beat the second on better movement and balance.

2nd VEKLORRA BARNEY REBEL AT POWERPACK  Longer cast black brindle who just wasn’t as “together” in the body as the winner. Decent enough head shape about him and again without coarseness. He was a bit of handful on the move but I saw enough of him to warrant his place.

  3rd IZUMIS COTTON EYE JOE

Res DAVID BROWN

VHC YORKS ONE TIME FOR FAIRLENIUM

OPEN DOG (8, 2 abs)

1st ROTHERSTAFF SARACEN  RESERVE BEST DOG Very typy brindle dog with super head properties. He is clean and has enough width and depth in both the skull and muzzle. His front and rear angulation appear balanced but he moves much better coming than going. He is an honest dog with ample virtue.

2nd ASHSTOCK RED MILLER  JW  Red dog who I have judged before and he has certainly got a lot more about him than last time. Ample bone and substance and perhaps he is verging on being a bit cloddy if his weight isn’t watched. First rate head properties with a keen expression and well pronounced cheek bumps.

3rd ROTHERSTAFF BLACK TIE  Liked this dog but I couldn’t assess his movement, get a handle on him please, he is worth the effort!

SPECIAL OPEN FAWN OR FAWN/WHITE DOG (4, 0  abs)

1st CH ASHSTOCK BY JUPITER  JW  I can see how this dog attained his title, would have loved to have judged him in his prime. Upstanding red dog with a smashing headshape, broad and deep throughout without any fleshiness or coarseness. His good construction came into its own when he moved effortlessly both ways.

2nd ASHSTOCK RED MILLER  JW  see 2nd open dog

3rd DRAGONS LAIR

RES  FERGIES SPECIAL BOY

VETERAN DOG (4, 2 abs)

1st CH ASHSTOCK BY JUPITER  JW      BEST VETERAN IN SHOW   see 1st special open fawn dog

2nd SEIKOSTAFF HERCULES   White dog who unfortunately came across a top notch veteran on the day. Not a badly made dog with a decent enough head. Like me, he obviously likes his puddings but he moved well enough both ways.

BITCHES

MINOR PUPPY BITCH ( 6, 2 abs)

1st CURCUS SUMMER STORM  Both the winner and second have similar virtues.  Today this black brindle baby won with a shorter back and coupling. Lovely headshape and her body is developing along all the right lines. Moved like a puppy does but she will come together with age.

2nd BEKANBAR SHINING STAR  Another nice black brindle who like first has lots to like about her. Again, lovely head properties, decent body but longer cast than the winner. She is another with time on her side.

3rd  BOWFERRY GOLDEN YEARS

RES  LONGDRIVE EBONY GIRL

PUPPY BITCH (10, 3abs)

1st  ZAKSTAFF MISS O'REILLY AT SOUTH STAR  BEST PUPPY IN SHOW  What a little corker and she won this class by a country mile! Smashing headed black brindle with the keenest of expressions enhanced by her dark eyes and perfectly placed rose ears. Good front on well padded feet. Her bodyshape is coming along nicely and will only get better when she tightens and fittens with age. Good rear quarters and moved as such. She just now needs to perfect the game and I’m sure she will have a super future.

2nd  BOLDSTOCK ROSIE RUCKER  Pleasing headed black brindle with not the balance of the winner. She has ample bone and substance but is very much a puppy in development. Time is on her side.

3rd  ZAKSTAFF SOPHIE'S CHOICE

RES  ARAIDH HEARTBREAKER

VHC BEKANBAR SHINING STAR

JUNIOR BITCH (10, 0 abs)

1st RAMBLESTAFF JORJA ON MY MIND  Very typy black brindle with a smashing head, strong but feminine. Good front supported on good pasterns and feet. Nicely bodied, although carrying a bit of weight. Good bend of stifle and she moved really well both ways. She isn’t firm at all to the touch and once she fittens up it will make a massive difference I feel. Lovely all round bitch.

2nd  AYMSTAFF MAGIC FLAME  Substantial red bitch who is well off for bone and substance. She is verging on perhaps a bit too much. Decent enough head shape and well bodied all round. Didn’t move as well as the winner hence her place.

3rd  SUNNYSTONE PARTY GIRL AT TONPAY

Res PEMATU CHEEKY CLOWN

MAIDEN BITCH (3, 1 abs )

1st ZAKSTAFF MISS O'REILLY AT SOUTH STAR  see 1st puppy bitch

2nd JAMBOROB SIMBA MALKIA  Plain headed brindle bitch who lacks strength in her foreface. Straight front and her bodyshape is ok. Moved better coming.

NOVICE BITCH (6, 2 abs)

1st JESSIE ROSE OF CRICKELSTAFF   Nicely balanced black brindle with a decent headshape with width and depth. She has a smashing body shape but is carrying a bit of weight around the loin. Balanced in both front and rear angulation and moved well both ways.

2nd AYMSTAFF MAGIC FLAME   see 2nd junior bitch

3rd ASHBULL ESMERALDA

Res LABRASTAF EYE OF THE STORM

POST GRADUATE BITCH (7, 1 abs)

1st  ASHSTOCK CONSTELLATION  Standard red bitch with a very pleasing shape to her head although she is a bit wrinkly. Good front and rear quarters although she is a bit longer cast. Good rib and a generally nice shape about her. Moved well enough both ways to secure her place.

2nd RAMBLESTAFF MISS DEMEANOUR   Although this black brindle had a stronger and cleaner head it just wasn’t quite the shape of the winner. Straight front but her shoulders appear overloaded. She has a shapely body and is both short in the back and coupling. She moved ok but not as good as the winner

3rd TORNADOSTORM DANCING QUEEN

Res ARAIDH SOMETHING ABOUT MARY AT KILVARA

VHC  SMYLINATYA ACTIVE STORM

OPEN BITCH (8, 1 abs)

1st  CRAGAILS INDIAN SUMMER  BEST BITCH, RESERVE BEST IN SHOW & BEST OPPOSITE SEX  Beautiful black brindle bitch! She has a strong but feminine head with width, depth and showing no coarseness. Super fronted on good feet and pasterns. Loved the body properties, good rib, depth of brisket and shortness of both the coupling and back. She does need a bit more angulation to the stifles and width to the hams in general but this is never going to override her qualities, this is why she was beaten by the dog for BIS. One major fault – she isn’t on my couch!

2nd FIRE CRACKER AT ESTELLASTAFF   RESERVE BEST BITCH  Red bitch with not quite the class of the winner but is a very good all round honest bitch. She too has a smashing head but perhaps slightly underdone. Upstanding on her front with good shoulder placement. Her body shape is good but it is lacking a bit of tone at present. Her overall virtue is balance and her movement was very good both coming and going, this secured her RBB above a super puppy.

3rd  ROTHERSTAFF INDIAN INK AT DYNASTAFF

Res CH ARAIDH LADIES WOT LUNCH AT ROTHERSTAFF

VHC KEWAUNEE POCAHONTAS FOR POWERPACK  JW

SPECIAL OPEN BRINDLE OR BRINDLE/WHITE BITCH ( 10, 3 abs)

1st KEWAUNEE POCAHONTAS FOR POWERPACK  JW  VHC in a very good open bitch class. Another well balanced black brindle bitch who oozes type in abundance. Very pleasing in her head properties and moved well both ways.

2nd  ARAIDH HEARTBREAKER  Rather plain headed bitch who was reserve in a good  puppy class. There is a nice frame surrounding the body properties to build on but she is a very raw puppy who still has a way to go.

3rd  ARAIDH SOMETHING ABOUT MARY AT KILVARA

RES  ASHBULL ESMERALDA

VETERAN BITCH (5, 0  abs)

1st ARAIDH DEVIL IN DISGUISE AT ROTHERSTAFF  BEST VETERAN BITCH  & BEST OPPOSITE SEX VETERAN IN SHOW If ever there was a face that screamed Stafford at you this is her! Quality bitch who is bang standard and balanced throughout. Obviously time isn’t as kind to your bones as we would like and she did show this a bit in her movement.

2nd RASPBERRY BEAUTY  If you were to judge dog shows on character this is the winner! Brindle bitch carrying her years quite well. Not quite as shapely in the body as the winner but she did have a certain ‘je ne sais quoi’ about her.  Her vocals were on top form on the move!

The one absolutely unselfish friend that man can have in this selfish world, the one that never deserts him, the one that never proves ungrateful or treacherous, is his dog…he will kiss the hand that has no food to offer; he will lick the wounds and sores that come in encounter with the roughness of the world…when all other friends desert, he remains
